Warm Hugs Coffee Cards
The design of these two cards is a little departure from my crisp white backgrounds that I usually go with. This time I thought a toffee background with dark brown & black would provide a warm & cozy “coffee by your side kind of vibe”.

Because I used very dark ink colors (Poppy Seed+Oreo, Chocolate Truffle and Oyster for the handles), I did the stamp & stenciling process a little backwards. I started by stenciling all the coffee mugs first and then used the TE Alignment Guides & MISTI to stamp the coffee cup designs with VersaMark Ink that I heat embossed with white embossing powder. This way the white embossing stays crisp and bright over the darker ink colors.

I created to card bases, but assembled them differently for two unique looks. For the first card, I stamped the coffee bean in between the coffee mugs using the clear stamp in the kit. Then I added two Black & White Embossed coffee sentiment strips to the bottom of the card design.

For the second card, I left the background clean and simple without the extra coffee bean stamping. I added a tall coffee mug die cut with Vellum, Toffee Cardstock + Toffee Ink blending and a Chocolate Truffle Handle. For the sentiment, I added the cute Hug in a Mug envelope seal and a Brown & White Embossed Coffee “Sending Warm Wishes” Sentiment Strip. To finish the card, I added a Chocolate Truffle border front the Frame in Frame 3 Die Set.

Perk Up & Rise and Shine Rainbow Coffee Cards
For my rainbow coffee duo, I created both cards from one stamped and stenciled background. I used the standard stamp with VersaMark>heat emboss>stencil process. After ink blending the rainbow colored mugs using the layering stencil, I used a cotton swap to remove any excess ink from the white embossed patterns on the mugs.

Once I had all my rainbow mugs cut out using the coordinating dies, I went to work arranging them in rainbow order to my diagonal stitched card base into a rainbow-like arch and horizontal rainbow.

I placed the “I will rise but I won’t Shine” in the center of the coffee mug rainbow. This sentiment totally cracks me up and sums up me in the mornings 🙂 I added the Monday sentiment strip for a little more “I need more coffee” snarky-ness.

For the second card, I used the coordinating clear stamp to add the rainbow coffee steam in Strawberry Milkshake, Watermelon, Pineapple, Cookie Monster and Blueberry and finished off the card with a black and white embossed Coffee Sentiment Strip.

To help the rainbow colors pop, I added the decorated card panels to a Licorice card base.

So there we are friends, two warm and cozy Coffee-Themed Cards plus two rise and shine bright and cheerful rainbow coffee cards using the Taylored Expressions Perk Up! Card Kit. I hope you enjoyed my projects today and be sure to check out the Taylored Expressions Blog for more inspiration from the TE Creative Team. Thanks for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!
