Taylored Expressions Mini Slim Essentials Release Cardmaking Inpiration

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! It’s Release Day at Taylored Expressions and it’s a Mini Slim Essentials Release!!! I am officially addicted to the Mini Slim Card Size and so excited to share my new mini slim card design with you. Today, I’m sharing projects using the Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate, Tutti Frutti and Tickled Pink Stamp Sets.

All of my cards used the Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate because it’s way too much fun and an easy way to add pops of color and dimension to any card design. Using a metal shim with the Mini Slim Thin Frame Cutting Plate, I die-cut all the colors of the rainbow from the Bold TE Premium Cardstock Pack. Having all the thin frames in an assortment of colors allowed me to mix and match colors as I worked on all of my Mini Slim Card Designs.

As a Bonus, I also found THE BEST organization hack for all the extra frames…a coupon file that I found at that department store with a red circle. It fits all the frames perfectly (in rainbow order of course) and the best part…there’s a pocket on the top flap which is a perfect fit for the Cover Plate Fits! Score!! I LOVE a good craft organization hack!

Tutti Frutti Mini Slim Card Ideas

My first Tutti Frutti Berry Card was Strawberry Themed with bright pops of red, green, and black stenciled seeds using poppy seed ink, a black blender brush and the Mini Slim Wonky Dots Stencil. I colored the Berry Cute images with Cherry Pop, Lime Green and Peapod Liquid Watercolors and added a few highlights with white gel pen and cut the images using the coordinating die.

To a white slim card panel, I added a Lollipop, Cherry Pop and Granny Smith Thin Frame using liquid adhesive. I die-cut the Wonky Stencil background with a Stitched Mini Slim Stacklet that fit perfectly inside the thin frames.

I used a circle punch to cut-out the Have a Berry Special Day! Sentiment and then adhered the sentiment and berries to the wonky heart stacklet using thin foam squares.

To finish the card, I attached the decorated panel to a Top-Folding Cherry Pop Cardbase. But wait…I also used the Mini Slim Scalloped Envelope Liner to create a matching envelope liner using a floral print from the Bold-Playful Patterns 6×6 Paper Pack.

My second Tutti Frutti Berry Card was Blackberry & Raspberry themed with purples and pinks. I water colored the berries using Jelly Donut, Plum Punch, Raspberry Sorbet, Lollipop, Lime Zest and Peapod Liquid Watercolors.

Then I added a thin frame border in Plum Punch, Jelly Donut and Granny Smith cardstock to a white side folding mini card base. The berries were adhered to the center of the thin frame border using adhesive squares. To finish the card, I added the “You’re the Sweetest Thing!” sentiment from the Simple Strips-Thanks Stamp. For something extra berry sweet, I used the Mini Slim Scalloped Envelope to create a Granny Smith Liner from the Bold-Playful Patterns 6×6 Paper Pack that I added to a Jelly Donut Mini Slim Envelope.

Tickled Pink Flamingo Mini Slim Card

For my last card, I created a rainbow thin frame background for the Flamazing Pink Flamingo from the Tickled Pink Stamp & Stencil Set. And the white embossed sentiment…that’s actually the smallest frame from the thin frame cutting plate in Oreo Card Stock!!

I stamped the Flamingo in Oreo Ink and using the coordinating stencil I added Strawberry Milkshake and Lollipop to the Flamingo Body and for the wings added a little Pineapple to the pinks for a sunset vibe. I colored in the beak and legs with Copic Markers and then cut the image using the coordinating die. Before adhering the Flamingo with thin foam adhesive squares, I added some highlights with white gel pen and adhered the sentiment with liquid adhesive. To finish the card ensemble, I used the Scalloped Envelope Liner and Mini Slim Tropical Leaves to create a pink leave envelope liner that I added to a Cookie Monster Envelope.

Taylored Expressions Very Cherry Cardmaking Kit Release Inspiration

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! It’s release day over at Taylored Expressions with a new Cardmaking Kit!! I LOVE everything Very Cherry—cherry pie, cherry preserves, cherry cobbler, black cherry soda, cherry yogurt, cherry ice cream, Shirley Temples—plus I adore the vintage-nostalgic feel of cherry designs in clothes, linens, decor, stationary, etc. SO needless to say this kit has to be the Cherry on Top for me.

The Very Cherry Cardmaking Kit includes

Here’s everything included the Very Cherry Kit– which is available for $65:

  • Very Cherry Cling & Clear Combo set
  • Very Cherry stencil
  • Clearly Crafty Cherry on Top stamp set
  • Cherry on Top die collection
  • Open Scallop Circle die
  • 6 Custom Envelope Seals
  • 6 A2 Envelopes: 2 each of Cherry Pop, Strawberry Milkshake, and Peapod
  • Packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom kit label

Limited quantity available. Most items not available to purchase individually.

Vintage Very Cherry with Black & White Gingham

For me Cherrys & Gingham go together like Toast & Jam so I knew right away I would combine my projects with the Gingham Background stamp.

The first thing I did to create my cards was to ink-up the Very Cherry Cling Background Stamp with Oreo Ink and then use the Clear Stamp to color the Cherries and Leaves with Cherry Pop, Watermelon, Peapod and Granny Smith Ink Colors. After color stamping the images, I stamped over the ink color with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder for extra gloss & shine. While the clear embossing powder was still a little tacky after heat setting, I added Cherry Pop Glitter for extra sparkle and then heat set the glitter with my heating tool. Then I used the Cherry on Top Die Collection to die-cut the cherries from the background.

For my first Gingham & Very Cherry card, I stamped the Very Cherry Cling Stamp with VersaMark Ink to Cherry Pop Cardstock and then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used the Very Clear Combo stamp with VersaMark ink to add more dimension to the white heat embossed cherries. With Cherry Pop Ink, I did some tone-on-tone stenciling to add the sweet little mini hearts in between the white heat embossed cherry images. I die-cut the Open Scallop Circle with Oreo Cardstock and the center circle from Sugar Cube cardstock which I layered together and added a stem of Glitter Cherries with thin foam tape and then every so carefully stamped the Hello Sentiment from the Clearly Crafty Cherry on Top stamp. I cut a piece of the Black and White Gingham Background as a top layer between the Open Scallop Circle and White Heat Embossed Cherry Background.

For my second Gingham & Very Cherry card, I started by stenciling the mini hearts to Oreo Cardstock using my White Blender Brush and Sugar Cube Ink. Then I stamped the larger hearts with Sugar Cube ink. I die-cut the background with a Stitched Rectangle Stacklet and then added it to a framed layer of Sugar Cube and Cherry Pop cardstock. I stamped the sentiment with Cherry Pop Ink, trimmed it to size and layered it to a piece strip of Black and White Gingham under a circle die cut with a Cherry on Top. To finish the card, I added the three Cherry Stems with foam tape.

Very Cherry Vintage Black and White Gingham Supplies

For my third Gingham & Very Cherry card, I started by stamping the Very Cherry Cling Stamp with Blueberry Ink and then color-stamped the Cherries and Stems with Watermelon, Cherry Pop, Granny Smith and Peapod Inks (double-stamping for the darker red hues).

I stenciled the mini hearts between the cherries with Strawberry Milkshake ink. I used the circle die to cut a piece of red & white gingham stamped background paper and adhered it to the center of the white scallop circle die cut. I stamped the sentiment with VersaMark Ink to Cherry Pop cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder and die cut using a Double-Ended Flag Stacklet. To complete the card, I added the decorated card panel to a Blueberry Cardbase.

A Cherry Sweet Hello

My last card was Quick & Easy to create by using one of the envelope seals as the card’s focal point. For the background, I stenciled the mini hearts with Watermelon ink and then added the pink hearts using all the hearts from the Clearly Crafty Cherry on Top stamp. I love how “Cherry” Sweet the soft pink hearts look against the bold red.

Then I added a Very Cherry Envelope Seal to a white Open Scallop Circle Die Cut and adhered it with foam tape to the top center of the card panel. For the sentiment, I used white embossing powder and heat embossed the sentiment to an Oreo sentiment band.

All that Glitters Taylored Expressions Summer Release

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! It release day over at Taylored Expression and it’s full of summertime goodies, fine loose GLITTER! in 10 Colors and a glitter application paste called Glitter Grab.

New Release Promo Details: Get the glitter party started with our All That Glitters Glamour Box! This bundle is a $60 value for $50 and is available now through Sunday, June 20th. The TE All That Glitters Glamour Box includes: 10 – 1 oz jars of fine loose glitter (Lollipop, Cherry Pop, Candy Corn, Peapod, Cookie Monster, Jelly Donut, Pearl, Silver, Gold and Oreo) + a 4 oz. jar of TE Glitter Grab. The discounted bundle price is only available through Sunday, June 20th.

Let’s get started with some Sparkly Summertime Card Making Inspiration. Today, I’m sharing cards using the Shades of Summer Stamp (+Coordinating Dies), Anything’s Popsicle Stencil & Clear Stamp Combo (+Coordinating Dies), On the Block-Cool Stamp + Dies, Building Blocks-Cool Additions, Mini Strips-Hello Summer Stamp and of course Taylored Expressions Glitter and Glitter Grab.

Shades of Summer-From Grumpy to Sunny

I figure it’s pretty hard to be Grumpy when you have yourself a cool pair of Glitter Glam Shades to enjoy the warm and cheerful sunshine. Using the Shades of Summer Stamp and Coordinating die, I die-cut the solid shade images from white cardstock and the frames from Lollipop and Cookie Monster Card stock. With Lemon Meringue Ink, I stamped the polka dot and stripe images, added the glitter sparkle frames and attached the shades to the Copic-Colored Big Grumpy Cat & Bear.

To add the Glitter Sparkle to the glasses, I mixed Lollipop and Cookie Monster with Glossy Accents and then applied the glitter mixture directly to the glasses with a palette knife.

To complete the cards, I masked the Big Grumpy Cat and used the Here Comes the Sun Stencil with Lemon Meringue Ink to create a Sunny Day background. I kept the Big Grumpy Bear background clean and simple with Diagonal Rectangle Stitching. I added the Sentiment from Shades of Summer to the “Grumpy now Sunny” signs and for a little extra pop of sunshine, I added Lemon Meringue Starstruck Die Cuts to each of the cards.

You’re SO Cool…How Cool?…POP-SO-COOL

For my Pop-So-COOL card, I couldn’t wait to try out the Glitter Grab with the fine loose glitter and let me tell you it’s like magic with stencils!! Using my Bitty Blenders, I ink blended a row of Rainbow Popsicles and then added the Popsicle Sticks with Toffee Ink using the Anything’s Popsicle Stencil & Clear Stamp Combo.

I added the dimension to the inside of the popsicles using the clear stamps. After all the stenciling and stamping was complete, I applied the Glitter Grab to the Popsicle Top Stencil with a Nuvo Media Spatula. After carefully removing the stencil (and quickly cleaning the Glitter Grab from the stencil), I added Lollipop, Candy Corn and Peapod Glitter. Using the Anything Popsicle Dies, I was able to cut all of the popsicles with one pass with my die cutting machine.

Tip/Trick: To make sure the glitter didn’t transfer to my cutting plate, I added a piece of copy paper to the top of the die cut layer.

For the COOL sentiment, I used the Cool On the Block Stamp (+Coordinating Die) with VersaMark Ink, Lollipop Cardstock and White Embossing Powder. The “You’re So” is from the Building Blocks-Cool Additions stamp (+coordinating die). To finish the card, I arranged the Popsicles above the COOL sentiment in a fun zig-zag order.

You Melt My Heart

For my last card, I did a little play on hearts. I used Bitty Blenders to create a Mini Slim Card using the Anything’s Popsicle Stencil & Clear Stamp Combo with Glitter Grab and Pearl Glitter. The Pearl Glitter is so pretty and reminded me of ice cold frost on the top of the popsicle.

I added the Poppy Seed stenciled hearts from the Stencil Strips-Love Set. The black & white heat embossed sentiment is from the Mini Strips-Hello Summer Stamp. For a little extra pop, I added Bits & Pieces – Hearts between the inked, stamped and glitter popsicles.
