You Rock! Happy Birthday Cards

For both cards, I stamped the Mix Master Background Stamp in VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I cut each of the backgrounds with a Rectangle Stacklet for both the A4 and Mini Slim Card. The background panels where adhered to an Eggplant card base with TE 1×3 foam strips.

I stamped and cut the sentiments from the Best Mix Ever Stamp Set in Lollipop and Jelly Donut inks and the Best Mix Ever coordinating dies. I added dimension to each of the sentiments by adding a die cut piece of pink and purple fun foam. The white embossed “You’re not old…you’re retro!” sentiment was stamped to the negative cassette piece (in Licorice cardstock) from the A4 Let’s Party card. Then I adhered each of the sentiments at fun angles on each of the cards.

For the records on the Mini Slim Card, I die cut the cassette reel/tape in both Licorice and Sugar Cube cardstock and adhered all of the circles with liquid adhesive to a small licorice die cut. For the heart, star, bolt and music note centers, I used the confetti die from the set in Jelly Donut, Key Lime, Lemon Merringue and Lollipop cardstock.

To create the Let’s Party Mix Tape on the A4 card, I started by die cutting the base pieces from Sugar Cube & Licorice Cardstock plus an Acetate Window layer that I sandwiched between several layers of the Black Cassette case. For the rainbow tape, I used Lollipop, Jelly Donut, Lemon Meringue, Key Lime cardstock. Using the guides on the white cassette backing die cut, I adhered each tape ring starting with the smallest key lime circle.

I attached the Black & Acetate Window cassette case to the white cassette back and adhered the black and white supply reel to the top of the acetate with two black Bits & Pieces rhinestones. To finish the cassette, I added a thin rainbow strip “metal shield” using the strip die from the kit and the Black and White Let’s Party Mix Mini Strip.

Best Mix Ever Cardmaking Kit Supplies

Taylored Expressions Basic Essentials Release Inspiration

The latest Taylored Expressions Release is all about Basic Essential Supplies that every cardmaker wants/needs/must have and will use over and over again. I have way too many favorites from this release (I’m going to need reams of the Licorice Cardstock!) Today, I’m sharing two projects using the Oh My Word-Thinking of You Stamp + Coordinating Die & The Big Hello Deco Adhesives + Dies and of course a few more essentials that I will be using on repeat!

Clean & Simple Triple Hello

For my clean and simple triple hello card, I used the Big Hello Adhesive Foil Transfers (following instructions on the back of the Adhesive Transfer Packaging) with Rainbow Shattered Glass Foil & the Big Hello Polka Dot Hello stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink that I heat embossed with Diamond Embossing Powder for extra sparkle and shine.

Both the Rainbow Foil and Black & White Polka dot Hellos where triple stacked with Hello die cuts for dimension. I used the new Licorice Cardstock to white heat emboss the Mini Strip-Hello Add-Ons and added the “I Miss Seeing You” sentiment strip with thin foam adhesive squares.

The Licorice cardstock is the smooth and vibrant it takes to white embossing powder like magic! To finish the card, I stacked up two A2 Layer Stacklets to a white A2 panel using 1 x 3 Foam Strips and then adhered the entire panel to a Licorice cardbase.

Oh My Word-Thinking of You

I absolutely love the Oh My Word line of stamps and dies…the font is so fun and the size makes it the star of any card. Speaking of stars…for the background panel I used the Bokeh Stars Layering stencil to ink blend a pretty mix of Blueberry, Blue Raspberry + Cookie Monster & Sprinkles Inks. I stamped Thinking of You with VersaMark Ink to Vellum and heat embossed the image with Cookie Monster Embossing Powder.

I adhered the embossed vellum sentiment using fine beads of Nuvo Deluxe Liquid Adhesive (behind the embossed image to hide the adhesive) to a double-stacked white Thinking of You Die Cut. I also used Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive to add the two borders from the Frame in Frames 3 Die Set in Blueberry and Sugar Cube to the Bokeh Star background panel. To finish the card, I added the Reach for the Stars Mini Sentiment Strip and adhered the Thinking of You Sentiment at an angle across the SugarCube Frame.
