Taylored Expressions Pieced Patterns Cardmaking Kit Inspiration

Hi Friends! Happy Last Tuesday of the Month—it’s my favorite day with Taylored Expressions Cardmaking Kit Release and this one is AMAZING!!! This is hands-down one of my all time favorite kits and I will be using this set for a LONG time!

I never got the knack of creating with fabric but some of my fondest memories are watching my mom sew and quilt beautiful pieces for craft shows and I remember so her taking me to quilt shows and being in awe of all the textures, colors and patterns. I’m so excited about this kit and being able to create beautiful pieced together miniature treasures on paper.

The Pieced Patterns Cardmaking Kit retails for $57, is packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom sticker, and includes:

  • Pieced Patterns – Squares die
  • Pieced Patterns – Triangles die
  • Four Square 6×6 Background stamp
  • Sticky Sheets (set of 10 sheets)
  • TE Maps – Pieced Patterns
  • The Insiders – Everyday Occasions panels
  • True Colors Inspiration Cards (set of 4)

Most kit items are not available to purchase individually.

Additional products available to purchase outside of the kit: Pierced Grid Cutting Plate die, Pieced Patterns envelope seals (set of 10, 5 each of 2 designs), TE Maps – Pieced Patterns, and The Insiders – Everyday Occasions panels.

Using this kit is all about prepping to piece! Using cardstock colors in my scrap bin, I went to town die cutting all the pretty colors using the Pieced Patterns-Squares and Triangles die. I stamped and gold heat embossed the Four Square 6×6 Background stamp twice to die cut both square and triangle pieces.

Then I added Sticky Sheets to three TE Pieced Pattern Maps. Before peeling off the sticky site and, I rearranged the square and rectangle tiles to figure out the pattern and color combinations. Once I had the layout, I snapped a photo and used it as reference as I pieced the quilt patterns together.

I used one of the patchwork maps with the following color combination: Sour Gummy, Dijon, Cherry Pop, Guava, Cupcake, Honey, Gumball, Lavendar Glaze and gold embossed polka dots. To finish the card, I added a gold embossed Mini Strip from All the Best to the center of the design.

I used the Chevron map for my first card using the following color combination: Mulled Wine, Huckleberry, Cherry Pop, Pumpkin, Guava, Raspberry Sorbet, Sweet Potato Pie, Honey and Pineapple and gold embossed polka dots and plaid. To finish the card, I added a Mulled Wine Circle with Ridge lines and a gold heat embossed All Together Occasions Thinking of you sentiment.

I used one of the barnyard quilt maps to create my third card using gold embossed wood grain squares, triangle polka dots and the following colors: Huckleberry, Raspberry Sorbet, Mulled Wine, Honey and Lavender Glaze. I cut down the map, adhered it to a white cardstock frame and woodgrain cardbase. To finish the card, I added a gold embossed Hello Friend All Together Occasions sentiment.

So there we are friends. Three cards using the AMAZING Pieced Patterns Cardmaking Kit. Be sure to stop by the blog to see more inspiration from the Creative Team. Thank for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!

Taylored Expressions Valentine Treats Release Inspiration

Hi Friends & Happy Tuesday!! It’s release day at Taylored Expressions. Today, I’m sharing projects that help you wrap-up your Treats & Sweets for Valentine’s Day and all the celebrations that follow.

You’re Berry Sweet

The Berry Sweet Bundle is SO adorable and the strawberries perfectly fit a Linder Chocolate—especially the Strawberry Crème 🍓🍬 The Berries super easy to pull (pun intended) together with one string/twine. Just thread the string through the top holes of the berry die cut, pull to close, thread the two ends of the string/twine through the two holes on the berry leaves and time a cute little bow to secure.

🎨 The Color Palette: Lollipop, Fruit Punch, Granny Smith and Dill Pickle.

For the tag, I used an Itty Bitty Tags 2 and stamped the sentiment in Fruit Punch and the Clearly Crafty The Berry Best Stamp Set.

For the packaging, I added a piece of red tissue paper to the bottom of the Berry Basket and added four berries to top! Super Easy & Cute!!

I’m a Sucker for You Bouquet

This is such a fun die set to create pretty sucker pop florals 🍭🌸 Just die cut the flowers in all the pretty colors, slightly fold the petals together and secure into with the tabbed end. Insert your favorite sucker of choice (I love a good Tootsie Pop) and attach the leaf die cut. For a secure fit, I wrapped a small piece of transparent tape to the bottom of flower and sucker handle.

🎨 The Color Palette: Lollipop, Dragon Fruit, Strawberry Milkshake, Cupcake, Granny Smith and Dill Pickle.

Taylored Expressions Valentine Release Inspiration

Hi Friends! Happy 2024! We’re ringing in the new year at Taylored Expressions with a heart-filled Valentine Release. I love this cardmaking holiday with the bright and happy pinks, reds and purples and all the Hearts! ❤️🩷 Today, I’m sharing several projects using a few of the new products and of course I snuck in a few older goodies too.

💌Sending Love Letters

There are so many new elements on these two cards, I’m sharing a list of each component with a few tips and tricks. Assembly was a snap once I had all the pieces die-cut, glued and stamped.

🪄Assembly Tip: After arranging and rearranging my card elements, I snap a picture with my phone which I then use as a guide when I’m gluing my final card together.

🎨The Color Palette : Cupcake, Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop & Dragon Fruit (so excited to have this new color for Valentine Cards!).

❤️ Postage Stamp Layers: The postage stamp dies are AMAZING and certain they will be in constant rotation this year! AND—the best thing is the A2 Layer Stacklets make for a perfect fit inside the stitched border. This is how I stacked the 3D Heart Embossed layers to the postage stacklets on both cards.

🩷 3D Embossing Folders: How about those 3D embossed heart embossed panels—SWOON!! Using a white embossed panel is one of my sneaky ways to keep a design clean and simple but amping up the dimension. For 3D embossing folders, I followed the sandwich instructions of my die cutting machine—your sandwich shouldn’t feel too tight going through the machine.

❤️ Envelope Dies: I used liquid adhesive to secure all the mini envelopes together. I used a large stamping block as a weight to keep the pieces together as I waited for the glue to dry.

🩷 Love Letters Stamp & Die: To create the notepaper love letters, I found it easiest and created straighter results to die-cut first and then stamp the lines. I used the lines image from the Love Letters Clear Stamp in Salt Water Taffy & Strawberry Milkshake and then stamped Hugs & Kisses and XOXOs using Oreo ink.

❤️ Mini Strips-Sending: This set is the perfect match for the mini envelope dies. For extra pop against the pink and white color story, I white heat-embossed the sentiments to Licorice cardstock.

🩷 Little Bits Hearts: This is from a previous release but I love how the chubby hearts look with the envelopes and it’s what I used to seal a couple of the envelopes and as embellishments on the final card design.

🍕Pizza My Heart

Oh my goodness, the cuteness of this die set and the coordinating sentiments. I created the shaped cards using the 3×3 Toffee Notecards and the largest circle and heart die in the Love You to Pizzas die set.

🎨 Color Palette: Toffee, Potato Chip, Cherry Pop, Sea Salt, Dill Pickle, Plum Punch & Licorice.

I made the pizzas (with liquid adhesive) with the following recipe:

🧀 Cheese: Potato Chip Cardstock with Honey Ink Blended edges
🥫 Sauce: Watermelon and Cherry Pop Cardstock with Cherry Pop Ink Blending
🍄 Mushrooms: Sea Salt Cardstock
🍕Pepperoni: Cherry Pop Cardstock with White Clay Hearts & Red Glitter Gems
🫑 Peppers: Dill Pickle Cardstock
🧅 Onions: Plum Punch Cardstock
🫒 Olives: Licorice Cardstock

For the Pizza Boxes, I stamped the sentiments and checkered image from the Pizza My Heart stamp set to 3×3 White Envelopes! It looks SO CUTE seeing the pizza come out of the Pizza Box Envelopes! This might be my favorite Valentine Project of ALL Time!

❤️ Folk Love & Hearts

With the Scandinavian vibe of the Folk Love & Hearts, I had to combine the Folk Hearts & Love with a cute Valentine Gnome holding the Love’s O as a Folk Heart. The Gnome was created using a combination of pieces from the Gnome Sweet Gnome & Gnome Along Birthday die sets.

🎨 Color Palette: Cherry Pop, Cupcake, Sea Salt, Confetti Cake + Red Glitter Happy Medium

For the background, I stamped the Shiplap Background Stamp and then the Wood Plank Background stamp; both in Sea Salt Ink. Then I assembled all the pieces together with liquid adhesive and finished the card with a black and white embossed “From the Gnomies” Simple Strip.

🩷 TE Exclusive Mosaic Heart

For my last project, I used the TE Exclusive with qualifying purchase Mosaic Heart Die.

🎨 Color Palette: Fruit Punch, Strawberry Shortcake & Silver

To create the stained glass mosaic heart, I die cut both the solid and mosaic heart from Sugar Cube cardstock and added the mosaic layer to the solid heart with liquid adhesive. I colored all the mosaic window pieces with Pink and Red OLO Markers and flooded each opening with Glossy Accents. Once dried, I added a Silver Glitter cardstock border.

I combined the stained glass mosaic heart with a Silver Shimmer Foiled “Happy Valentine’s Day” from the Foil it – With Love & coordinating metal dies. To finish the card, I added the sentiment and mosaic heart to Postage Stamps & A2 Layers Stacklets in Sugar Cube, Strawberry Milkshake & Fruit Punch.
