Let the Shenanigans Begin! Taylored Expressions Release Inspiration

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! It’s time for Green & Gold with Taylored Expressions St. Patrick’s Day Release! I’m a wee-bit Irish so I definitely love all things St. Patrick’s Day and oh my goodness…ALL THE RAINBOWS! If you know me, I love to rainbow everything so this is definitely a favorite cardmaking holiday for me! 🙂 I couldn’t stop creating with this release. I have several cards to share with you today and can’t wait to show you all my creations.

You’re My Pot o’ Gold

For my Rainbow’s End trio of cards, I started by die cutting several rainbow beams in Lollipop, Candy Corn, Pineapple and Cookie Monster card stock and the Pot O’ Gold from Licorice and Gold Foil cardstock.

For my first card, I arranged the beams in rainbow order to the top of a stitched rectangle panel. Using a foam square I attached the Pot O’ Gold to the center of the rainbow with two shamrock cloud die cuts. It’s hard to see in the picture but I also added a bit of glitter & shine to the pot with black glitter cardstock which I also added as star embellishments surrounding the rainbow. For the sentiment, I gold embossed the St. Patrick’s Day Sentiment from the Shake Your Shamrock Stamp Set and the You’re My Pot O’ Gold! Mini Strip. To finish the card, I added the decorated panel to a Jade Foiled Luck of the Irish Foil-It Panel.

For my second card, I used the remaining rainbow beams to create a trio of interconnected rainbows that I adhered to a rectangle stitched mini slim panel. For the rainbow centers, I added two gold foil Little Bits-Shamrocks with a gold embellishment center and gold heat embossed Lucky to have you as a Friend sentiment from the Shake Your Shamrock Stamp Set & Coordinating dies. To finish the card, I added the decorated panel to a scalloped frame and Blueberry card base.

For my third card, I foiled one of the rainbow Luck of the Irish Panels in Rainbow Shattered Foil, cut out the rainbow beam from the panel and adhered it to a white mini slim card panel. I ink blended the rainbow across the foiled panel and white mini slim card panel using TE Blending Brushes and Fruit Punch, Lollipop, Pineapple, Key Lime and Cookie Monster inks. At the end of the rainbow I added a Pot of Gold and the Have a Happy St. Patrick’s Day is a combination of building block sentiments and a St. Patrick’s Day Mini Strip. For a little extra shine, I finished the card with a Gold Foil mini slim thin border.

Let The Shenanigans Begin!

Oh, My Gnomes! I seriously cannot get over how cute the Gnomes look all dressed up as Leprechauns using the Lucky Leprechauns Dress-Up Die Set. For my cutie, I used an assortment Cardstock in Poblano Pepper, Licorice, Gold Foil, Peaches n’ Cream, Key Lime and Green and Orange Glitter Card stock. I just love the green glitter foam on the green beer 🙂 For the green coat, I colored a white piece of cardstock with dark green Copic Markers.

To create the background, I ink blended Granny Smith, Cilantro and Poblano Pepper to white card panel. Then using a MISTI, I stamped the Luck of the Irish Background Stamp with Poblano Pepper Ink on top of the green ombré ink-blended panel. All of the layers (Luck of the Irish Ink-blended background, Vellum & Sugar Cube) were die cut using the A2 Layer Stacklets. To finish the card, I stacked all the layers together added a few Bits & Pieces Lucky Stars and a White & Poblano Pepper embossed sentiment.

Warm Hugs Coffee Cards

The design of these two cards is a little departure from my crisp white backgrounds that I usually go with. This time I thought a toffee background with dark brown & black would provide a warm & cozy “coffee by your side kind of vibe”.

Because I used very dark ink colors (Poppy Seed+Oreo, Chocolate Truffle and Oyster for the handles), I did the stamp & stenciling process a little backwards. I started by stenciling all the coffee mugs first and then used the TE Alignment Guides & MISTI to stamp the coffee cup designs with VersaMark Ink that I heat embossed with white embossing powder. This way the white embossing stays crisp and bright over the darker ink colors.

I created to card bases, but assembled them differently for two unique looks. For the first card, I stamped the coffee bean in between the coffee mugs using the clear stamp in the kit. Then I added two Black & White Embossed coffee sentiment strips to the bottom of the card design.

For the second card, I left the background clean and simple without the extra coffee bean stamping. I added a tall coffee mug die cut with Vellum, Toffee Cardstock + Toffee Ink blending and a Chocolate Truffle Handle. For the sentiment, I added the cute Hug in a Mug envelope seal and a Brown & White Embossed Coffee “Sending Warm Wishes” Sentiment Strip. To finish the card, I added a Chocolate Truffle border front the Frame in Frame 3 Die Set.

Perk Up & Rise and Shine Rainbow Coffee Cards

For my rainbow coffee duo, I created both cards from one stamped and stenciled background. I used the standard stamp with VersaMark>heat emboss>stencil process. After ink blending the rainbow colored mugs using the layering stencil, I used a cotton swap to remove any excess ink from the white embossed patterns on the mugs.

Once I had all my rainbow mugs cut out using the coordinating dies, I went to work arranging them in rainbow order to my diagonal stitched card base into a rainbow-like arch and horizontal rainbow.

I placed the “I will rise but I won’t Shine” in the center of the coffee mug rainbow. This sentiment totally cracks me up and sums up me in the mornings 🙂 I added the Monday sentiment strip for a little more “I need more coffee” snarky-ness.

For the second card, I used the coordinating clear stamp to add the rainbow coffee steam in Strawberry Milkshake, Watermelon, Pineapple, Cookie Monster and Blueberry and finished off the card with a black and white embossed Coffee Sentiment Strip.

To help the rainbow colors pop, I added the decorated card panels to a Licorice card base.

So there we are friends, two warm and cozy Coffee-Themed Cards plus two rise and shine bright and cheerful rainbow coffee cards using the Taylored Expressions Perk Up! Card Kit. I hope you enjoyed my projects today and be sure to check out the Taylored Expressions Blog for more inspiration from the TE Creative Team. Thanks for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!

Taylored Expressions Second Chance New Release Inspiration

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! Taylored Expressions just released several 2022 Gift With Purchase + a few Card Kit Supplies for purchase in the store along with several new coordinating products! Today, I’m sharing projects using the Dutch Garden and One in a Melon Layering Stencil.

One in a Melon Layering Stencil

The One in a Melon Layering Stencil & Clear Stamp Combo is such a fun set (I even saw a few designers turn the melons into pizzas & tacos!) and the new coordinating dies have all the pieces to create watermelon die cut slices.

For the Mini Slim Card Design, I used the layering stencil to create the mini slim stitched rectangle background in Lollipop, Key Lime and Oreo. I stamped the Punny Sentiment in Lollipop Ink and die cut using the coordinating die along with a piece of hot pink fun foam for extra dimension and combined it with the black and white embossed “Have the Sweetest Birthday” from the Hello Summer Mini Strip Set. To finish the card, I stacked the watermelon panel to a Key Lime Petite Scallop Stacklet and Lollipop cardbase.

The background on the A2 Thanks a Melon Card, was stenciled in Poppy Seed Ink using the Wonky Dots Mini Slim Stencil (they look just like watermelon seeds) and the panel was cut down and adhered to a Lollipop card panel. The Watermelon Slices were die cut using the One in a Melon Dies in Sugar Cube cardstock that I ink blended using TE Bitty Blender Brushes in Fruit Punch, Lollipop and Key Lime Inks. Using two heights of 3D foam squares, I adhered the Watermelon Slices to the Sugar Cube+Key Lime+Lollipop Circle Stacklet Layers. The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. To finish the card, I added all the layers together and adhered Lollipop Tiny Diamonds to the Wonky Dots background for a little extra pop.

Dutch Garden Layering Stencil

The Dutch Garden Layering stencil is the perfect background to experiment with color that I had to create two card with two very different color combinations. I finished each card with a ”Thanks” and “Hello” Framed Script Die Cut in Fruit Punch & Lavender Glaze and a coordinating black and white heat embossed sentiment from the Hello Add On and Thanks Add On Mini Strip Sets.

For the first color combination, I used Blueberry (stems & leaves), Cherry Pop+Fruit Punch and Cookie Monster. I layered the Dutch Garden Background to Cookie Monster & Cherry Pop cardstock using the A2 Layering Stacklets.

For the second color combination, I used Tropical Punch (stems & leaves), Dried Fig+Macaron and Honey. I layered the Dutch Garden Background to Lavender Glaze & Dried Fig cardstock using the A2 Layering Stacklets.
