Taylored Expressions In the Abstract 2 Cardmaking Kit Inspiration

Hi Friends and Happy Taylored Expressions Card Kit Tuesday (last Tuesday of the Month—where in the world did February Go?!). This month is all about Abstract Art! If you enjoyed the original In the Abstract Cardmaking Kit, you are going to LOVE creating with the new In the Abstract 2 Cardmaking kit that includes a Create-in-Quads layering stencil that has four perfectly placed layouts…taking the guesswork out of placing images and colors into the perfect abstract image. The abstract layouts are the perfect backdrop to silhouette images and modern line art with so many color combinations possibilities.

The In the Abstract 2 Cardmaking Kit retails for $65, is packaged in a zippered pouch with a custom sticker, and includes:

  • Create-in-Quads Abstract Layering Stencil set
  • Simple Silhouettes stamp set
  • Boho Bowls die collection
  • The Insiders – Abstract panels

Most kit items are not available to purchase individually.

Additional products available to purchase outside of the kit: Foil It – Abstract panels, Abstract Envelope Seals (package of 10), Clearly Crafty More Signature Sentiments stamp set, More Signature Sentiments die collection, and The Insiders – Abstract panels.

In the Abstract 2 Inspiration

For my Abstract Quad, I went with a warm desert boho-vibe color palette using Sweet Potato Pie, Raspberry Sorbet, Peachs n’ Cream and Sprinkles.

I tried to keep all the stamping and ink blended to one layer but added dimension to each of the designs by using the positive and negative die cuts from the Arches & Rectangle Stacklets and A2 Thin Rose Gold Foil frames. Tip: When die cutting with the A2 Thin Border cutting plate, I like to use a Metal Shim to get great crisp cut the first time through.

Arches Frame & Panel:

Rectangle Frame & Panel:

All of the silhouettes were stamped using VersaFine Nocturne Ink, a MISTI and TE Alignment Guides and the abstract pottery was die cut in Rose Gold Foil & Raspberry Sorbet.

The Rainbow Boho Panel is super clean and simple. To create a poster frame look (without the glass), I popped up the outer frame using foam tape that I cut into strips. I also had to have one card with the envelope seal as the focal point.

All of the sentiments are heat embossed with rose gold embossing powder from the Clearly Crafty More Signature Sentiments stamp set and More Signature Sentiments die collection.

So there we are friends, four warm desert inspired abstract cards using the In the Abstract 2 Cardmaking Kit. I hope you enjoyed my projects today and be sure to check out the Taylored Expressions Blog for more inspiration from the TE Creative Team. Thanks for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!
