Taylored Expressions Easy Strips! and Exclusives Release Inspiration

The new Easy Strip & Exclusives Taylored Expressions Release might just be one of my favorites! The Easy Strips came out during last year’s Stamp Joy and I’m super excited that they are now available in the Taylored Expressions Shop. The are SO much fun with endless possibilities. There was a LOT of stripping happening in the craft room, LOL!

Prepping & Storing my Easy Strips

Before I started all of my projects, I die-cut all my favorite rainbow color cardstock into all three sizes of the Easy Strips. This way I could have all the sizes in multiple colors on hand to design different backgrounds. This also created several piles of paper strips that required some storage and found that long Candied Pretzel Treat Bags were the perfect fit for both the strips and extra pieces of cardstock cut to size for easy die cutting later on down the road. I’m storing all my strips in a long storage tray that I picked up at Target.

Sealed with Love & ⅛-inch Easy Strips

The Sealed with Love Cling & Clear is such a fun set and I’m super excited about the coordinating die that cuts out several envelopes at once.

For my first Sealed with Love & Rainbows card, I stamped the background in Oreo Ink to Sugar Cube Cardstock. I used the Coordinating Sealed with Love Die to cut out several of the envelopes and stamped the hearts in Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow and Blue from the Clear Stamp. Using liquid adhesive, I added the ⅛-inch Easy Strips in rainbow order to the bottom of a white card panel.

After adhering all the strips to the front of the card, I turned it around and trimmed the excess strips from the panel (saving the trimmings for my second & third card below). Then I cascaded the rainbow envelopes along the side of the card panel with the end of the rainbow leading to the black and white heat embossed A Note to Say Hello Mini Strip Sentiment. Tip: Since I had a few leftover envelope die cuts, I double & triple stacked a few of the envelope die cuts for extra dimension.

For my second Sealed with Love & Rainbows card, I stamped the background in Sea Salt Ink to a Sugar Cube Card Panel. With Liquid Adhesive, I added the ⅛-in Easy Strips in Rainbow Order to a Stitched Square Die Cut, turned the square die cut over and trimmed off the excess pieces (saving the trimmings for my third card). I added two heart envelopes to the Rainbow Striped Rectangle with foam adhesive and then adhered to the Sea Salt Background Panel. To finish the card, I added the Sealed with Love sentiment with Oreo ink.

My third card was a Bonus Project. I love how the Clean & Simple Birthday Card came together so quickly from all the extra Easy Strips Bits & Trimmings from the first two cards. I sprinkled the extra trimmings to a white card panel and attached them with liquid adhesive.

I added the Birthday Wishes Gold Heat Embossed Stitched Rectangle Sentiment from Botanical Sentiments to the top of the Confetti/Sprinkles card panel and attached the panel to a Lollipop cardbase.

Flourishing Frame & ½-in Easy Strips

The Flourishing Frame Cutting plate is absolutely gorgeous with all it’s delicate vines/leaves. Because this is an intricate die, I used a metal shim as part of my die-cutting sandwich.

To create the background of the Happy Anniversary card, I used TE Adhesive sheets (which I first adhered to a cardbase) to add ½-in strips at a diagonal in Cookie Monster, Sprinkles, Eggplant, Guava and Fruit Punch. I cut the Flourishing Frame in both Sugar Cube and Vellum Cardstock and adhered the White Frame to the Easy Strip Background with liquid adhesive. To finish the card, I added the gold heat embossed Botanical Sentiment to the Vellum Rectangle and adhered it to the center of the Flouring Frame.

I did a quick White-on-White Inlay for my Thinking of You Card. First, I die-cut the Flourishing Frame from a White Card Base, removed the frame die-cut and adhered the negative to another white card base. Then I adhered the frame back into the negative as the inlay (only adding adhesive to the rectangle edge so I could pop-up several of the leaves and vines for extra dimension). For the sentiment, I added ¼-in Easy Strips to the top and bottom of the inside rectangle frame.

Then using my MISTI and MISTI Clear Alignment Panels, I stamped the Sentiment with VersaMark Ink and Heat Embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. To finish the card, I used Liquid Adhesive to adhere the Sentiment Frame to the Flourishing Frame Border.

Treat Totes & Foil It Valentine Tags

The best thing about Valentine’s Day is some of best gifts come in small packages that fit perfectly in the new Taylored Expressions Treat Totes. For my Foil It Valentine Simple Tags & Treat Totes, I first strated up my Mini Minc, set it to 4, sandwiched the Foil Panel with Purple Foil between parchment paper and ran it through the Mini Minc. I removed the foil from the panel to reveal all the purple shine and used the Simple Tags-Valentine Layering Stencil and Bitty Blender brushes to add the Plum Punch and Guava Ink hearts. Then I used the Simple Tags Die to cut all the tags at once—easy peasy!

For the first Treat Tote , I folded the tote in half, placed it in my MISTI and masked off the handles to stamp the Diagonal Diamonds Background in Sugar Cube Ink. I assembled the Treat Tote by folding all the flaps and securing with score tape. To finish the Treat Tote, I folded over the Happy Heart Day Tag and adhered it to the top of the tote with score tape.

For the second Treat Tote, I used the Foil It Valentine Tag Stencil, Fruit Punch Ink and Red Happy Glitter Medium to add the stenciled hearts to the front of the Treat Tote. To finish the tote, I added the Be Mine Tag with purple baker’s twine to the Treat Tote Handle.

Both Totes are now ready to package some yummy and/or pretty Valentine Treats.

And now…a special guest post from my daughter, my little Valentine and my favorite crafting buddy:

Happy Valentines Day. This year for the kid kit we have some cute valentine scratch off jokes and some cute critters to color. The first thing that I did was color the critters. The main colors that I did was teal, blue, purple, pink, and red.

The second thing that I did was put the scratch off stickers over the jokes. This adds a little bit of surprise with the jokes and makes it very fun.

The third thing that I did was I glued on the base to the card that I made. It was really fun to decide what colors to put with the card, and eventually all of the cards should have a base to go with.

Taylored Expressions Valentine’s Release Inspiration

All the LOVE for the new Taylored Expressions Valentines Release!! Oh My Cupid’s Bow, there are SO many fun products in this release and I have a lot of Valentines to share with you today—12 Cards in All!! Let’s get started with the new Hearts Create-in-Quads Layering Stencil which is perfect for mass producing Valentine Cards and sending Happy Mail Loves & Hugs.

Create in Quads (CIQ)-Hearts

If you’re not familiar with the Create-in-Quads Stencil Line…well, it is absolutely genius…one piece of cardstock, four layering stencils EQUALS = 4 Card Panel Backgrounds ready to decorate with sentiments, die cuts and images.

Using the Create-in-Quads pre-cut cardstock, I simply aligned it to the stencil markings and used a piece of washi tape to secure it to the back of the stencil. Then using Blender Brushes, I applied Taylored Expressions ink to each layered stencil revealing another piece of the stencil design. What I LOVE the most about the Create-in-Quads Layering Stencil (besides creating 4 cards at once) are ALL the different color combinations that you can mix and match together. It’s my jam to experiment with so many color options!

For my first set of cards, I went all in on the PINK! with Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop, Guava & Fruit Punch. Using my MISTI, I first stamped all of the sentiments with Jelly Donut and then a second time with VersaMark Ink.

I then heat embossed the Jelly Donut sentiments with Diamond Embossing Powder for a little extra sparkle. To finish each of the card panels, I layered the Love & Hugs sentiments with Vellum Stitched Hearts Stacklets and attached the decorated card panels to a Fruit Punch cardbase.

For my second set of cards, I went with a more 60s Retro-Mod color combination by sneaking in some Candy Corn and Plum Punch with the Valentine Pinks in Lollipop & Strawberry Milkshake.

I added diagonal strips to some of the orange hearts using the Striped Square Stencil. To finish the cards, I added Oreo & Gold Embossed Love & Hugs sentiments and Itty Bitty Gold Foil Hearts and attached the decorated panels to a Plum Punch card base.

Chip & Charlie Valentine Mini Slimline Card

Chip and Charlie are so stinking cute and they always look like they are having THE best time hanging out with each other. I used TE Liquid Watercolors in Lollipop, Oreo & Lemon Meringue to paint Chip & Charlie. For the XOXO background, I used the Valentine Stencil Strips with Lollipop Ink and the new Pink Happy Medium Glitter and then die cut using a Mini Slim Rectangle Stitched Stacklet that I layered with a Strawberry Milkshake Scallop Mini Slim Stacklet frame.

For a little extra dimension, I adhered Chip & Charlie to a die-cut piece of pink fun foam before adhering to the XOXO stenciled background.. To finish the card, I added a Very Cherry Foiled Love Simple Strips in Reverse Sentiment and attached the decorated panel to a Mini Slim Side Fold Oreo Cardbase.

Supply List: Chip & Charlie Mini Slimline Valentine

Stitched with Love – Happy Galentine’s Day Bouquet

I paired the Stitched with Love Cutting Plate and it’s sweet little heart cut-outs with the beautiful Autumn Array Stamp & Stencil Combo and with a little color switch turned the Autumn Array into a Spring Bouquet.

For a little extra sparkle, I added a layer of the new Pink and Purple Happy Medium Glitter to the flower petals and iridescent Happy Medium Glitter to the yellow centers. With the coordinating Autumn Array Die, I cut the stenciled bouquet and a layer of fun foam that I adhered for extra dimension.

The sentiment is from the Simple Strip in Reverse-Love set that I foiled using the Mini Minc with Lilac Deco Foil.

Rainbow Everything Valentines

Now it’s time for some Rainbow Valentine Cards!! If you know me, I love to rainbow everything so of course I had to include a few Rainbow-Themed Valentines with the new release goodies.

Stitched with Love – Hearts & Rainbows

Using my stash of cardstock pieces, I created strips that I adhered to the back of the Stitched with Love Cutting Plate in rainbow order. To secure the strips in place I used a combination of clear gift wrapping tape and liquid adhesive.

For the sentiment, using my MISTI I stamped several impressions of the On the Block-Love in Oreo Ink and die cut using the On the Block-Love Shadow Die. The “Sending”,  Lots of” and “XOXO” are from the Building Blocks-Love Set which I stamped with VersaMark Ink to Oreo Cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder then cut using the coordinating Build Blocks Die. To finish the card, I adhered the decorated panel to an Oreo Cardbase…the black helps the rainbow colors Pop!

Supply List: Rainbow Stitched with Love

Rainbow Love Lights

I used the Love Lights Stamp and Stencil Combo for my Rainbow Lights Mini Slim Card. I stamped the Love Lights Background with VersaMark Ink to a Sugar Cube Simple Strip Stack (I use these handy pre-cut stacks for all my background stamping) and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

Using the Itty Bitty Blender Brushes and Love Lights Layering Stencil I added colorful rainbow heart bulbs over the silver embossing. Once the stenciling was complete, I cut the image to fit a mini slim top folding carding using the largest Mini Slim Stitched Rectangle Stacklet. To add a little extra love to the card, I added Silver Foil Cardstock Itty Bitty Hearts to the card panel.

I LOVE a good pun and the Watt’s Up Mini Strips set cracks me up! So many great sentiments not only for Valentines but also fun Greetings, Congratulations & Encouragement Cards.

I stamped the Watt’s Up Mini Strip with VersaMark Ink to Oreo Cardstock and heat embossed with TE White Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I added sentiments at an angle to the decorated card panel which I then adhered to an Oreo Mini Slim Layering Panel and Sugar Cube Mini Slim Top Folding Cardbase.
