In addition to the Field Notes 2 Kit, Taylored Expressions now carries three Karin BrushmarkerPRO Color Palette sets that are perfectly matched to create beautiful watercolor florals. I have three different cards showcasing each of the different color palettes.

For my first two cards, I created the gold heat embossed backgrounds using the Splatter Background Stamp and Gold Embossing Powder. I love how pretty the gold splatters look against the dark mulled wine cardstock but also how bright and cheerful it looks against the Gumball cardstock. For even more Gold Shimmer and Shine, I Gold Embossed the Splatter Backgrounds to all the envelopes in the kit.

Because I have a hard time not embossing everything, I also gold embossed the Sketchbook Floral on water color panel and the beautiful sentiment on Toffee Cardstock. I then stamped and water colored the bouquet with Lori’s Picks for the BrushmarkerPro TE Palette which includes: Cool Aqua, Ochre, Pale Orange, Fire Red, Skin 2.

For my second card, I used Heather’s Picks for my BrushmarkerPRO Palette which includes Blush, Curry, Burgundy, Henna, and Sapphire Blue. I stamped the images to the corners of an A2 Watercolor panel. I water colored the florals in a bright cheerful yellow and then I tried water coloring the entire background blue and let’s just say I used the wrong brush and the coloring was sad—in other words I made an “oops”. Unless it’s a black smear of a mess, I’m a believer that an “oops” can be turned into something unexpected so I moved ahead, die-cut the florals from the A2 panel, attached them to the Gumball Gold Splatter Background and stamped the sentiment right in between the floral images for a perfect fit. Then I attached the decorated card panel to a Sugar Cube card base.

For my last card, I had to make a Mini Slim Sized Card because once you start making this size you can’t stop. I stamped the Sketchbook Bouquet Image twice along an A2 Watercolor Card Panel. I colored the florals with Taylor’s Picks BrushmarkerPRO Palette which includes Red Lilac, Canary, Lime Green, Egyptian Blue, Lilac. With the included stencil mask, I covered the bouquets and stamped the dotted pattern to add a customized splatter pattern using Jelly Donut and Lavender Glaze inks. I trimmed the card to fit a Mini Slim Scallop Frame and added a Lavender Glaze striped faux belly band to the center of the card with a layered circle punch sentiment. The decorated card panel was then added to a Jelly Donut Top Fold Mini Slim Cardbase.

So there we are friends, three very different looks using the new Field Notes 2 Card Kit at Taylored Expressions with the three new BrushmarkerPRO Palettes. Have a wonderful week ahead and Big Paper Hugs!
