#spreadjoynotgerms Blog Hop

Hello Friends and Welcome to Pops of Paper! I’m so happy to be joining the #spreadjoynotgerms blog hop. This hop is full of amazing designers and companies celebrating the joy of happy mail! If you’ve been hopping along, you should have arrived from the talented Victoria Maria

For my post today, I’m not sharing a card…I know crazy…but it is Happy Mail Inspired. Instead, I’m sharing how my 10 year old daughter and I spent a few “stay-stuck-at-home” hours creating a Crafty Girls! Happy Mail sign for our Craft Room Door. It was an idea the kiddo has been wanting to create for the longest time, and finally we had the time to make it happen.

Our project today combined stamps and dies from two Amazing Blog Hop Sponsor companies: Ellen Hutson and Trinity Stamps.

We absolutely adore the Essentials by Ellen Leading Ladies series illustrated by the lovely Brandi Kincaid and the Crafty Lady and Little Lady were the perfect Crafty Girls for our project. The kiddo stamped and colored all the images (can you tell her favorite color is blue) along and I did all the fussy cutting.

For the “Crafty Girls” letters, hearts and stars, we created customer colored cardstock by ink-blended several pink, blue and aqua Distress Oxide Ink colors to white cardstock. Then we used the newly released Marshmallow Alphabet Dies from Trinity Stamps to die cut the ink-blended letters.

The Send More Happy Mail pocket was created using white cardstock and some ¼-in score-lines and score-tape. To decorate the pocket we used some scrap paper and the Essentials by Ellen Classic Block Alpha Dies by Julie Ebersole.

Then we arranged and rearranged all of the elements (so many times I lost count) to an 11×11 sheet of white card stock until we were finally happy with the layout. Then we took deep breaths and pasted everything together; clipped the final poster to a 12×12 clipboard and hung it on the door.

I love that each time I walk into the craft room, I’m reminded of all the creative fun we had together along with being a great reminder to fill-up the pocket with handmade cards to send in the mail.

We hope you enjoyed our project today. We had so much fun creating together and we’re so happy we can share our happy mail creation with you. Remember to keep spreading joy! Thank you for stopping by and Big Paper Hugs!

  3. This is adorable!!! What a great decoration (and useful, too!) to hang in your craftroom and it’s so fun that you were able to create it together with your kiddo!

  4. Love what you and your daughter created together! It looks amazing and I’m sure that you will always treasure not only your finished project, but the fun time you had together making it! I love my craftroom too and have been very busy making lots and lots of cards during my free time after work at home. I’m working from home, so instead of spending an hour driving home on the road, I get to put my work laptop aside and start working on my cards and having fun! LOL! I’ve been sending out lots of birthday cards too! I love making and sending out cards, even if the postage is getting crazy expensive. The joy of my friends and family receiving their home-made cards, makes it all worth it. Thanks for spreading some joy today and being part of this amazing hop!
