Stamping Together with Trinity Stamps

Hi Everyone! It’s my favorite monthly blog feature with Trinity Stamps because it means I had the best time with my crafty kiddo this weekend in the craft room. We had a blast creating magical, under the sea cards using the Oracle Octopus stamp set, Scenes from the Sea Stencils and lots of fun embellishments.

I hope you’ll join us over on the Trinity Stamps blog for all the details!!

Miss Ink Stamps: Bubbles Shaker Card

Hi Friends and Happy Mid-Week! I started to write my IG post for Miss Ink Stamps this week and realized I had a lot more to say about this card so I thought I would share more details here on my blog.

The Bubbles stamp set from Miss Ink Stamps is super cute with several different critters dancing and playing with bubbles.

Mirror Image Stamping

When I first saw the raccoon, I thought it would be fun to see two raccoons blowing bubbles together. This required me to do some mirror image stamping that I’ve found to be a little challenging to get right. BUT…I have found THE best solution for mirror imaging if you are going to die cut/fussy cut your images. I use my Waffle Flower Media Mat! All you need to do is stamp your image on the Waffle Flower Media Mat, press your card stock over the stamped image, remove and you have a crisp mirrored image impression!! So cool!!

Stamping & Coloring

After stamping the raccoon images, I watercolored the critters with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers (Gray-09, Gray Brown-094, Cool Gray-099, Light Gray-091, Black-010) and fussy cut.

Creating the Shaker

  1. I die cut a heart to create the shaker opening and added a piece of acetate to the back of the die cut.
  2. Then I did some ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks (Mermaid Lagoon & Broken China), blending brushes and water spritz to create the blue bubble background behind the heart shaker.
  3. I created a shaker wall around the heart, added my bubbles and little star embellishments and then added foam adhesive to the card panel and adhered the blue bubble panel to the heart shaker.
  4. Then I stopped and played with the shaker for a few minutes 🙂

Finishing the Card

  1. I added the two raccoons to the bottom of the heart. Then I used StazOn Pigment Snowflake ink to add a few bubble image directly to the acetate.
  2. Then I added the “Blowing Hugs and Kisses your way” sentiment below the heart and raccoons with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.
  3. The entire shaker card panel was added to aquamarine card stock.

I hope you enjoyed my shaker card today and it inspires you to get your Shake On! Have a wonderful week and hope to see you soon!

Skyline Borders: Ink Blot Shop New Release

Hi Friends! Hope you are having a great start to the week! I wanted to stop by and share one of my many cards from the new Ink Blot Shop release. If you haven’t noticed from previous IG postings I love the Ink Blot Shop 6×6 Borders Series Stamp Sets and there’s a new new borders set called Skyline Borders that I used on my card today. I also combined the Skyline with the Flair Greetings 3×4 Stamp Set that has several great “Hello” sentiments.

To create the card:

  1. I stamped the city scene border using a long acrylic block with VersaFine Clair Ink on Bristol Smooth White paper.
  2. Then I watercolored one city with bright colors across the rainbow with Zig Clean Color  Brush Markers (032, 040, 083, 031, 052, 050, 021, 022). For the second city scene I added some grays for a little extra depth.
  3. Then I fussy cut the two city scenes and layered them together.
  4. For the sky, I blended Distress Oxide Blue Inks (Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass) with my blending brushes. Then I set it aside for a couple hours before adding the embossed Hellos. If you don’t heat set or wait for the distress ink to dry the embossing powder will stick to the the blended ink. Not fun!
  5. I added the Hellos with VersaMark and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder.
  6. For a little extra pop and reminder to love our neighbors I added a red heart with glossy accents to the center building.
